In December, 2002 we conducted a tombola in Damp. The net proceeds of the tombola were an amazing € 27.500,00 which went to the children of Mekaela Academies without deductions.

The tombola had the patronage of H.R.H. Marie-Alix Duchess of Schleswig-Holstein Sonderburg-Gluecksburg. During the evening, she personally drew the main prizes. The event was supervised by a notary. In the name of the real winners of the tombola, the Kenyan children of our two schools in Ukunda, we would like to express our gratitude towards all those who supported the event. Asante sana! P.S.: Until 2005, Gerd and Simone with the approval of the management of Damp Holding AG organised tombolas for the company's annual Christmas staff parties at the company's several locations. In 2005, "Fachklinik Schleswig" joined "Ostseebad Damp" and "Hanse-Klinikum Stralsund" where the employees of Damp were able to win many attractive and valuable prizes (for instance, two brand new cars in 2004 and 2005). However, the real winners of the tombolas had always been the children in Kenya.

For each tombola, Simone and Gerd had to organise around 350 prizes. In total, Gerd and Simone have collected prizes exceeding the amount of 235.000,00 Euros, of which 40.000,00 Euros they contributed from their own pockets. Thank you very much for this very impressive achievement!
